What to ask an agency before you sign
How much a month, and for how long? How many Google posts? How soon after a review does the reply go out, and who writes it? Who answers on a Sunday or during Holy Week? Will you see each reply to a bad review before it goes up? A good agency will answer all of these in writing.
Whoever you hire, stay the primary owner of your Business Profile and add them as a manager. Managers can reply to reviews and edit your details; only owners can add or remove people.[1]
Using both
Some owners keep an agency for ads and social media and leave the daily Google work to Mapkita. The agency spends its hours on campaigns, and your reviews still get a reply the same day.
